contacter l’assistance Whatnot

If you use Whatnot to buy or sell, there may come a time when you need assistance. A missing item, a payment issue, or a dispute regarding an order… don't panic!

Whatnot has a fairly responsive support service. In this guide, I'll explain step by step how to contact Whatnot Support effectively based on your situation.

When Should You Contact Whatnot Support?

First, it's important to know that most issues can be resolved directly from your account. You can request a refund, report a missing or damaged item, or ask questions about an order in just a few clicks.

However, if the problem continues, you can create a support ticket and get in touch with the Whatnot support team.

Below, I'll explain the process whether you're a buyer or a seller.

If You're a Buyer: Getting Help With an Order

For buyers, Whatnot provides a simple process called “Get Help With This Purchase”. You can access it from both the mobile app and the website.

From the Mobile App:

  1. Tap Activity at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Go to Purchases.
  3. Select the order in question.
  4. Tap Get Help With This Purchase.
  5. Select the reason for your request (missing item, damaged item, item not as described, etc.).

From the Whatnot Website:

  1. Click the Activity icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Open the Purchases tab and select the relevant order.
  3. Scroll down and click Get Help With This Purchase.
  4. Select the issue you're experiencing.

Tip: Don't hesitate to attach photos or screenshots. This often speeds up the resolution process.

Requesting a Refund on Whatnot

If your purchase qualifies under the Whatnot Buyer Protection Program, you can request a refund directly through the same button. However, there are important deadlines to keep in mind.

  • In most cases, you must submit your request within 30 days of purchase or within 14 days of delivery.
  • For certain categories such as trading cards, sneakers, collectibles, and luxury items, the deadline is 7 days after delivery (or 30 days after purchase, whichever comes first).
  • For plants, the deadline is even shorter: 2 days after delivery.

If you miss these deadlines, Buyer Protection may no longer apply. That's why it's important to act quickly as soon as you notice a problem.

If You're a Seller: How to Get Support

Sellers have access to a dedicated area called the Seller Hub. There are two ways to contact support.

Option 1: Get Help With a Specific Order

If your issue concerns a specific sale (incorrect address, shipping delay, buyer dispute, etc.), follow these steps:

  1. Open the Whatnot app.
  2. Tap Seller Hub at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Open the menu (☰) and select Orders.
  4. Choose the affected order.
  5. Tap Get Help With This Order.

You'll first be connected with Whatbot, the automated virtual assistant. If your issue requires human assistance, Whatbot will allow you to create a support ticket.

Option 2: Use Whatbot for General Questions

Whatbot is available directly through whatnot.com. It operates 24/7 and can answer many common questions.

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Open the Seller Hub.
  3. In the left-hand menu, click Support Chat.

If Whatbot cannot solve your issue, it will automatically create a ticket so a support agent can assist you.

Contacting Whatnot About an Account Issue

If your issue is not related to an order (for example, a login problem, payment issue, or account settings question), you can contact support directly through the app.

  1. Open the Whatnot app.
  2. Tap Account.
  3. Scroll down and tap Contact Us.
  4. Select the category that matches your issue.

Once your request has been submitted, you'll receive a confirmation email with a ticket number. A member of the support team will usually respond within 48 hours.

Tips for Faster Support

  • Always check your spam or junk folder for replies from “Whatnot Support”.
  • Reply directly to the support email if you need to provide additional information.
  • Be specific. The more details you provide, the faster your issue can be resolved.

My Opinion on Whatnot Support

Personally, I find that Whatnot's customer support is fairly responsive, especially for issues involving recent purchases. Their Buyer Protection system is clear, and the support process within the app is straightforward. The only area that could be improved is email response times, which occasionally exceed the advertised 48 hours.

Overall, however, it's a reliable and helpful service. If you're a seller, I recommend using the Seller Hub to manage everything in one place. If you're a buyer, always start with the Activity → Purchases section when requesting assistance.

Summary

  • Buyers: Use “Get Help With This Purchase.”
  • Sellers: Use the Seller Hub or Whatbot.
  • Other issues: Contact support through “Account → Contact Us.”

Most importantly, don't wait too long. Be sure to respect the 2-day, 7-day, or 30-day deadlines depending on your type of purchase in order to remain eligible for Whatnot Buyer Protection.
