I regularly order from AliExpress, and until now, I often had to wait two or…

You found a product on AliExpress but you're unsure: Is the size right? Is the item compatible with European plugs? Is the product really in stock?
You want to ask the seller a question before placing your order. But it’s not that obvious.
Let me show you how — and trust me, I’ve done it dozens of times.
Before you buy: the path is a bit hidden
This is where it gets a bit tricky. When you want to ask a question before buying, AliExpress doesn’t make it super visible. But it’s there.
Here’s the method I use every time:
- Go to the product page of the item you're interested in.
- Below the price, look for the line “Sold by [store name]” (e.g., Sold by “TechPro Official Store”).
- Click that name. It’ll take you to the seller’s store page.
- Once there, click “Contact” — usually at the top right.
- The AliExpress message window opens. You can write your question.

Pro tip: Feel free to write in French. Many sellers use automatic translators — it works well for simple questions.
After ordering: it’s easy
Let’s start with the easiest: if you’ve already placed an order, contacting the seller is quick.
Here are the steps:
- Log in to your AliExpress account.
- Click on “My Orders” (top right, from a computer or in the app).
- Find the order in question.
- Click “Contact Seller” (or “Send Message”).
- A message window opens: you can ask questions, attach a photo, etc.
Good to know: Sellers often reply within 24 hours, especially well-rated stores.
Examples of useful questions
Not sure how to phrase your message? Here are some examples I use:
- “Hi, is this product compatible with European plugs?”
- “Do you ship from a European warehouse?”
- “Is the cable included in the package?”
- “What chest size (in cm) does XL correspond to?”
Be specific. Ask one question per message if possible — it’s clearer for everyone.
What if the seller doesn’t reply?
It happens. In that case, two options:
- Wait 24 to 48 hours (some sellers are in China — time zone matters).
- Look for another seller offering the same product and ask them.
My final advice
Always ask a question if you have a doubt, even if it takes 5 minutes. It’ll save you from returns or surprises.
And it helps spot serious sellers — those who reply fast are usually reliable.
