I regularly order from AliExpress, and until now, I often had to wait two or…

AliExpress is a real Aladdin's cave. You can find everything there: gadgets, tools, clothes, décor… and often at unbeatable prices. But beware: all that glitters is not gold.
Over time, I’ve learned to spot the good deals… and to avoid certain types of products. Here are the ones I never order on AliExpress, even when they’re on sale. And honestly, I recommend you do the same.
1 – Food products
It’s simple: I never buy anything to eat on AliExpress. Even if some Asian snacks or supplements may look exotic or fun, I prefer to avoid them.
We don’t know the origin of the products, we don’t know whether health standards are respected, and if something goes wrong there’s no recourse. It’s too risky, especially for just a few euros saved.

2 – Anything related to health
I’m talking about medicines, patches, “miracle” herbal teas, dietary supplements, hair treatments or supposedly medicinal creams. I sometimes get curious, but never enough to risk my health.
The reality is that we don’t know what’s in these products. Descriptions are vague, ingredients are rarely verifiable, and certifications are dubious or nonexistent.
If you have an allergic reaction or a bad interaction, you’re on your own. So, for me, it’s a no.

3 – Beauty products applied to the skin
Creams, serums, masks, makeup… These products can look tempting with their low prices and exaggerated promises. But they can also cause damage.
I avoid anything I have to apply to my skin, especially my face. One bad formula or allergenic ingredient can trigger redness, irritation—or worse.
So I stick to trusted brands, even if they cost a bit more.

4 – Baby products
Here I make no exceptions. Even if some baby items on AliExpress look cute or well‑rated, I never buy them. Babies are fragile, their skin is ultra‑sensitive, and their safety has to come first.
Materials may contain toxic substances, finishes can be sloppy, and safety standards aren’t always followed.
When it comes to my children, I invest in safe products bought in France or from trusted stores.

5 – Products from well‑known brands
Whether it’s Apple, Adidas, Nike, LEGO, or Dior, I systematically avoid branded products on AliExpress. Why? Because in 90 % of cases, they are counterfeits.
Even if the price is attractive, the quality isn’t. And frankly, using a badly made copy is neither pleasant nor flattering.
Plus, it’s illegal. Genuine branded products are rarely sold cheap on AliExpress. If I want a known brand, I use Amazon or an official store.

In short
AliExpress is still a handy site for:
- generic electronic gadgets,
- phone accessories,
- DIY tools,
- home decor,
- basic clothing.
But for anything related to health, food, baby products, skin care or well‑known brands, I pass. It’s not about money, it’s common sense.
And you? Are there products you refuse to buy on AliExpress? Share your experience in the comments—I’m curious if you’ve had disappointments (or nice surprises).
