If you paid for an AliExpress order using Western Union, your refund won’t be sent directly to your bank account. It is first credited to your Alipay account, the payment platform used by AliExpress.
Here is the full process to transfer that money to your bank account:
- Log in to your AliExpress account and go to the “My Orders” section.
- Find the relevant order and click on “View Details”.
- Locate the section indicating the refund processed.
- Click on “Pending Refunds”. This page redirects you to your Alipay balance.
- Select the available refund(s) (up to 60 at once), then click “Transfer to”.
- Enter your bank details: name, IBAN, SWIFT code, and destination bank.
- Confirm the transaction and wait.
⏱️ The transfer may take between 7 and 10 business days.
Applicable fees
AliExpress (via Alipay) applies international transfer fees if you send the money to a bank account outside China:
- Minimum fee: €15 per bank transfer
- Proportional fees may apply based on the amount and currency
Helpful tips
- Try to group several refunds (up to 60) to avoid paying multiple fees.
- Use a bank account that can receive transfers in foreign currencies (EUR or USD).
- Double-check your bank details before confirming the transfer.
Tip: Western Union is no longer recommended as a payment method on AliExpress. Prefer standard payment methods like credit card or PayPal (when available), which make refunds much easier.
