The refund has been approved, but you still don’t see anything on your account? Here are the steps to understand what’s going on and how to respond.

1. Check the processing time

The AliExpress refund usually takes between 3 to 20 business days to appear. Be patient and wait until this period has passed before taking action.

2. Review your bank statements

Check your statements starting from the original payment date. The refund may appear on the same date, which can make it harder to notice.

3. Check the refund method

The refund is processed through the same payment method used for the purchase:

  • Credit or debit card: check the account linked to your card.
  • PayPal: check both your PayPal balance and your bank account.
  • AliPay: the money is returned to your AliPay wallet.

4. Consider weekends and holidays

Non-business days may delay refund processing. Be sure to include weekends and public holidays in your calculations.

5. Special case: canceled bank card

If you’ve changed your card, the refund will automatically be redirected to the new account. If your account is closed, contact your bank with ID to release the funds.

6. PayPal and AliPay refunds

  • PayPal: if you paid using your PayPal balance, the refund is immediate. If the payment was from a card, it will be credited back to your bank account.
  • AliPay: the refund is usually instant and viewable in your AliPay account.

7. Contact AliExpress

If 20 business days have passed and you still don’t see anything:

8. Contact your bank

If AliExpress confirms the refund, ask your bank to investigate. If available, provide the ARN number (Acquirer Reference Number) to help them locate the transaction.
